Obesity: A Link To Diabetes.
Health experts clearly recognize that many of the diseases today are caused by obesity and these diseases are usually of a life threatening nature. One of these dreaded diseases which often plaques the obese individual is diabetes. It is very alarming that the young American population today is rapidly becoming heavier and more overweight each day. The results of a situation such as this are shocking and can result in many young people dying ahead of their parents. Additional studies indicate that children who are born in the year 2000 and up are more likely then others to develop diabetes.
Diabetes is of two basic types:
Type 1: diabetes sets in because of a damaged insulin-producing pancreas. The usual reason for this pancreas malfunction is generally due to virus and some sort of shock.
Type 2 : diabetic is caused by either the lack of proper insulin or the improper usage of insulin made by the human body. This type represents the most common of the diabetic problems.
Even though it has never really been established as to what initially causes diabetes many current experts and scientists has established a preliminary link between the processes of overeating which leads to obesity to establishment of the type 2 diabetes. According to recent studies more than 80% of those who are diagnosed with diabetes are grossly obese.
How do you know that you have diabetes?
