If we put on to much weight over time because we are eating to much then we can creep into the zone that is known as obese. Now there is a slight stigma attached to being obese. To admit and say Ok I am overweight is easier than to say that I am obese.
Obese just sounds that much worse and harder to admit to, the trouble is there are more people in the obese zone than admit to it and they should be worrying less about saying it and more about the effect that it could have on their health.
Obesity has been connected to heart disease and is the number one killer in some countries. If you are obese you are at a higher risk of heart disease and heart attack and also high blood pressure.
Another common disease linked to obesity is Type 2 Diabetes and this disease is on the increase as is the amount of people that are becoming obese, it has been estimated that one in fifteen people in the UK are obese, which is staggering, but the problem is a global one. Nephropathy is a disease to the kidney that is a link to Diabetes and is just one complication that can be brought on by the condition.
People who are obese can be at higher risk of developing gallstones and the stress on there bladder is more prominent which can lead to incontinence, there is a higher risk of Gout when being obese.
These are not all the related health issues that are associated with obesity but they give you a general idea that being obese is no good for our health. So more education is needed on this subject in our youngster so that they start out on a healthy lifestyle because the rate a which young people are becoming obese is also on the rise.
The only thing to do if you are overweight whether you reach obese or not is to lose weight, if not for appearance then for your health. To many people are dying
prematurely through obesity and we need to address it.
If you are overweight then it is time to do something about it and start getting into shape and losing some weight. The first port of call is to visit your Doctor to get your health checked out and make sure that you have clearance to exercise and change your diet. Then you need to get more active and cut down on the calories.
