Why is it so difficult to lose weight?
It is safe to say that many of us think its way too easy to put on the kilos yet so difficult to shred. Although this may be how we feel, it doesn’t necessarily have to be the case. So what can we do to change this?
CHANGE YOUR HABITS
A lot of people fail to realize that the smallest things have always and will continue, to make all the difference for weight loss. Walking up the stairs rather than taking the escalator, drinking water instead of “diet coke”, these little things – with consistency – will gradually transform our lifestyle’s and essentially, our health for the better. Small steps are important in the path to permanent weight loss.
EAT HEALTHY
Changing our diets can be one of the most difficult things to do for weight loss. But it doesn’t mean it has to be. Start small by substituting coke for diet coke, then diet coke for water. Or watching your portions so that you only eat what your body needs rather than eating because “its there”. We don’t have to completely cut off the little indulgences that life sometimes hands to us. But with a little self-discipline we can still enjoy chocolates, sweets and a beer without feeling guilty for doing so. An easy way to keep track is assign a day of the week to “treat yourself” to something you know you will enjoy. This way you have something to look forward to, you won’t overdo it and you can do it guilt-free!
SUMMARY
Most people find that the challenge lies in breaking habits and it is usually psychological. So by starting small, you can adjust your mind slowly to the little changes that you make and eventually teach yourself new, healthier habits until before you know it your on your way to permanent weight loss and a healthier lifestyle!
